This piece '357' has been donated to an auction in London that takes place on March 20th 2011 to raise funds for 'Help for Heroes'. I do hope it raised lots of cash for such a worthy cause!

The number of British military deaths in operations in Afghanistan

since 2001 stands at 359 -

L/Cpl Liam Tasker (and his dog Theo) and L/Cpl Stephen McKee have lost their lives since I completed this piece.

Seeing the Union flag at half-mast, images of coffins being driven through Wootton Bassett and the all too familiar announcement of another death, led me to complete this work in respect of all that have fallen.

Each name and face will never be forgotten by their friends and family. But, I feel, they also deserve to be remembered by us.

I hope this painting shows the deepest respect that I have for all the men, women (and dogs) that have fought. For those that returned safely, and for those who have not.
